great end to the season at Osprey

Fortunately the rain held off at the Osprey on Sunday for Serena and dad Simon, Lily and dad Andy, and Liz F and Clare. All (except Andy) raced the same event earlier in the year, so it was a great opportunity to see if all the hard week throughout the season had resulted in a bit more speed!
The race consisted of a 300m pool swim, followed by a tough ride up Portland hill, around the Island and back again, to finish with a 5k run! ALL athletes posted pbs, placing Serena (aged 15) 2nd overall, Lily 3rd in her age group (despite having a cold all week), Liz 2nd in her age group, and both Simon and Clare knocking minutes of their time from April…..Brilliant! A great way to finish the season, and start to plan goals for the 2015 season :)

Next race is the ETU Championships in Mallorca for me this Saturday. My last race of the season, and a chance to see how the hip flexor has recovered, and the ankle (Im falling apart! ). Personally, Im really looking forward to racing with the sun on my back, feeling the warmth, and enjoying the blue skies and fantastic scenery before the long winter haul of rain, wind, and coldness! :( . Will it, or will it not be a wetsuit swim…that’s the question. I think my biggest concern are the jellyfish! Results and blog will follow as of next week.
