Single disciplined racing!

Team Kelly, were up last weekend racing in the Yeovil half marathon. Chris, in preparation for London Marathon, and David (Chris’s Dad) as his first half marathon, after only just commencing on training, with a long term goal of completing an Ironman with his son. Brilliant.

It was a horrible day, wet, windy, and the course had by all accounts a nasty hill in the middle, just to take it out of the legs, when you are on target for a pb! Chris posted a very respectable 1:32, though slightly disappointed as he wanted 1:30 mark, its still a pb, so cannot complain at that. David in his first half, and being cautious with a calf strain, hit the 2 hour mark, so a great start to his racing future!

Also testing their skills at single discipline racing was Bren, who after a good block of training, tested his TT skills on a 10 miler posting 23 mins….in the wind and rain!

All looking good from team goalspecific! So, who is racing next? We have Juniors and adults racing at Bustinskins Osprey event on the 12th April, so good luck to Isobel, James and Lily. Serena is going for a 5k park run blast, Ian is going off road for his half marathon in Exmoor, and I will be testing out the new European Long Distance Duathlon Course in Host. However, at present, I am enjoying the mountains in France, and testing out the training sessions for our Goalspecific Training Camp in May! :)
