Lots happening!
Well we had lots of goalspecific athletes and tripurbeck athletes racing over the weekend, and there will be blogs from the athletes themselves following shortly. However as a race round up, we had James, Liz, Clare, Justin and also Tripurbecker Jane and Polly racing in the Gu Bustinskins events. 4 of those as first time events! Jane and James were racing in the middle distance, Jane winning her age group, and James hitting all of his target times sport on, and that was with a very unfavourable wind. Clare, Liz and Tripurbeck Polly, raced their first open water triathlon, Liz stepping up the distance as well. Justin not long back from injury as well, raced the Sprint, and was first out of the water, and maintained his lead throughout the whole race, so great result there. Looking very good for the rest of the season.
We also had Tripurbeck Mandy, Jonathon, Mark, Simon, Cheryl swimming in the Bournemouth Heart Foundation swim, and Simon and Serena racing in a sprint in Reading. Serana (one of our Juniors) came 3rd overall in the Female results. Whilst we are on the topic of our Juniors, on Saturday, Lily and Sam were racing in the Boscombe Super Sprint, and also put in great performances, finishing 2nd male (Sam) and 3rd female (lily)
So, who have we got up next? Derek is racing in Geneva next weekend as practice for the 2015 World Sprint Champs, and then Alpe Dhuez short distance at the end of the month. I should also be racing this, however, this really depends on how the torn hip flexor is.
So, plenty happening, the season is clearly underway!
