Osprey Sprint

Goalspecific athletes were flying at the Osprey sprint last weekend – all showing fantastic late season speed……….. or in Tyron’s case early season speed!

George Bareham smashed it from start to finish, finishing second overall and knocking big chunks off swim bike and run compared to his last outing at this race… and this time in windy bike conditions – awesome.

Tyron only came to us in August with no experience of triathlon at all. He is a phenomenal adpator though and just about nailed it at his first attempt – 5min for 300m swim, a 34min bike and a 21min run represented a great performance and 8th place overall as well as an age group podium at his first attempt – brilliant.

Then, just to complete a brilliant day out, Eric won his age group with a 10min pb – again despite the windy conditions…… and just to settle the arguments in the Sealey household, it would have been an age group win in several Osprey sprints going back over the last few years!

Finally, not to be left out, Dave Smith smashed his 5km pb in the Poole Parkrun yesterday – only missing out on a sub 20 because of his excessively flappy shorts :-)

Still plenty to come this season with Adam R and Fran (if she doesn’t drop anything else on her foot) racing at Challenge Paguera Mallorca (yes this definitely a good excuse for a long weekend of October sunshine) and Dave is racing the Lisbon Marathon. Lycra Dave…. go with Lycra.
