Ringwood Tri and Osprey Sprint

Awesome racing for Goalspecific athletes over the last few days, most on the start line for the first time this season which is always a bit of an examination of where they are in their training for the main goals in the season. Looks like everyone is in good shape!

At the Osprey sprint last Sunday, Eric was in fine form taking more than 10 minutes off his time from last year and finishing 3rd in his age group – great result.

In Ringwood this weekend, Laura, Simon and David were all racing and in Laura and Simon’s case testing out a bit of bike bling in a triathlon for the first time. It’s a bit tricky to say much about the swim as the times include transition but I think we can conclude the following….. Laura swam well and was out on her bike in 15mins from the start. Simon also swam well but a bit of customary pfaff in transition – we need to work on that – meant he followed Laura out about a minute later. Dave probably swam well but spent some time trying to sort out his garmin in transition – mmmmmmm……. So out on the bike and all went very well – Simon completed the hilly 28km in under 1hr30 with Laura and Dave close behind and excellent to see all were also able to run strongly off the bike in the first real test of the season. Simon finshed with an excellent run in 2hr30min looking really good as the prep for 70.3 continues. Laura finished 8 minutes later just ahead of Dave – Laura taking 3rd in her age group and Dave winning his – excellent results all round!
