Whilst Sharon and I were running and biking in Holland, there was a fair bit of running going on back in the UK. Liz and Sam who not only are Tripurbeck athletes, but GS as well, posted pbs in their respective races. Liz beating her 4 hour London marathon time by 4 mins, whilst stopping to help a man who collapsed a mile before the finish. We all hope that he has made a good recovery. Sam posted 4.20 for 1500m and 2.09 for his 800m track event. A great start to the racing season. Also Neil McD from Purbeck runners and Tripurbeck broke the 3hour mark in the London Marathon, and lastly, but by no means least, we had a handful of our Junior members running in the Poole Park 5k series. The results and relevant link can be found at http://www.tripurbeck.com/blog/even-more-fast-running/. For Annie, Max, Ollie and Ellie, it was their first attempt at running a 5k as well, and I had the pleasure of running around the course with them, just in case any struggled at all. I have to say, not only did they pace the 5k brilliantly, but they all seemed to have enough left to sprint at the end! I was really impressed with their attitude, strength and determination throughout it, and am looking forward to seeing how they get on in their next one!
