GS athletes take on the Bustinskins Race to the Bill!

Liz, James and Justin were racing in Weymouth at the weekend, James stepping up to the Olympic distance for the first time, Liz’s first ever open water swim in her 3rd ever sprint event, and Justins first race this season, recovering from a nasty groin injury. The weather was perfect for them, and as ever, Bustinskins put on a fantastic event for their first one! In the Olympic James hit his target times or faster in all the disciplines coming 7th overall in age group and first Tripurbeck member home. Next step up is Bustinskins Gu middle distance on the 13th July, steadily increasing the distance, ready for the big one in September!

Liz got through the swim without any hiccups and slowly built the pace finishing well on the run, coming home first in her age group! great stuff.

Justin clearly didn’t have too many issues with his groin either, as he came home 7th overall and first in his age group, a great start to the season. Hopefully they will get their race reports to me shortly so you can find out from them how it went!

As for Ade, unfortunately, I past my bug onto him and he didn’t race in the qualifiers on sunday, so the pressure is on for him at the Big Cow in September. Im up this Sunday racing in a middle distance to test a few changes in nutrition and race strategy, so we shall see how that goes.! Fingers crossed we will all be fit for that, as my eldest is at home throwing up at the moment! I really don’t want to miss another event. Its been one of those seasons so far!
